On day 1 of your Croatia Walking Holiday, you will arrive to the picturesque region of Istria. Your destination for the day is the charming town of Krasica, where your journey will begin. Nestled in the heart of Istria, Krasica is a small town known for its rolling hills, verdant forests, and picturesque countryside.

On the first full day of your Croatia Walking Holiday, you’ll set off on an exciting circular hike along the scenic paths of Parenzana, a trail that was once a railway track. Starting in Krasica, you’ll follow the trail as it winds its way through the rolling hills of Istria. Along the way, you’ll pass by picturesque villages, vineyards, and olive groves, taking in the stunning views of the countryside.
The highlight of the day will be the hilltop village of Buje, where you will have a nice lunch and enjoy the panoramic views. After lunch, you will retrace your steps and return back to Krasica, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after a day spent in the great outdoors.

The day will lead you from the charming town of Krasica to the hilltop village of Motovun. Walk through the picturesque cobbled streets of Grožnjan, known for its charming stone houses and artist community. After passing through the village of Livade, you’ll be transferred by car up the hill to Motovun where you will have the chance to explore the charming medieval town and enjoy the panoramic views.

You will have the option to either relax and explore the charming medieval town of Motovun, or take a circular hike through the surrounding fruit orchards. The hike will take you through the beautiful countryside, passing by picturesque vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees. You will also have the opportunity to stop by an award-winning Benvenuti winemaker, where you can taste some of the local Teran wine, known for its deep ruby color, full body, and rich flavor. This day offers a great balance of both relaxation and adventure, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural and cultural beauty of Istria.

On day 5 of your Croatia Walking Holiday, you will be transferred to the Mirna River, where your hike for the day will begin. The trail will take you past the ruins of Pietrapelosa Castle, an ancient fortress dating back to the medieval period, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich history. As you continue on your hike, you’ll pass through picturesque countryside, traversing around the Zudeka gorge and passing by medieval mines. The highlight of the day will be the climb to the old town of Buzet, perched high on a hilltop and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

You will start the day with a transfer to the Poklon Visitor Centre in the Učka Nature Park, where you will start your last two days of hiking. The hike will take you through the beautiful Ucka Nature Park, offering breathtaking views of the Kvarner bay and the Adriatic on the east side of Istria. You will descend towards the coastal town of Lovran, known for its charming old town, lovely beaches, and mild Mediterranean climate.

On the last hiking day of your Croatia Walking Holiday, you will have the choice of two routes to explore. The first option is to walk along the picturesque coastal promenade called “lungomare”, passing by elegant villas, secluded beaches, and towering rocky cliffs. You will have the opportunity to stop at charming cafes and restaurants, admiring the islands across the sea. After passing the resort of Opatija, you will be picked up by a bus and returned to Lovran from the harbor of Volosko.
The second option is to explore more of the Učka National Park from Mošcenicka Draga, where you will have the chance to take in great views of the seaside.
